JAMMU, June 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed today that they have arrested three notorious thieves in three different operations from Gangyal area here and recovered from their possession the stolen gold and silver ornaments besides a cash amount of over Rs 16000.
A police spokesperson said that teams of Gangyal police station led by SHO Gangyal Ajay Singh Chib under the supervision of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli, SP City South Sahina Wahid, and SDPO City South Sachit Sharma, made three arrests and recovered from all the thieves 5.5 tolas of golden items, 2 tolas of silver items and a cash amount of Rs 16, 200.
The accused identified as Mehmoob Akhter of Billawar at present Telli Basti, Bari Brahamana, Alex Matoo of Telli Basti, Jammu, and Shakoor Ahmed of Neleo Malhar, Kathua, have been booked under the relevant sections of the law and further investigation taken up, he said.
