JAMMU, Feb 17: National Productivity Council (NPC), Chandigarh, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as part of National Productivity Week, organized an awareness program (workshop) on “Productivity improvement through Lean Manufacturing and Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0)” at Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), Bhawan today.
During the workshop three tools/concepts for improving productivity of industries discussed included, smart manufacturing and their implementation, Industry 4.0 and Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques and their implementation with case studies.
The programme was inaugurated by Lalit Mahajan, president, BBIA, Jammu. While speaking on the occasion Mahajan urged the Industries to implement Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques to reduce wastages and improve profitability.
SP Singh, Regional Director, NPC, Chandigarh discussed significance of celebrating productivity week and explained different methods of improving productivity in different organisations/industries.
Mohit Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Jammu explained benefits of implementation of Lean Manufacturing in MSMEs and discussed various schemes of DC-MSME, Govt of India.
RS Solanki Lean Management Consultant briefed about different techniques of Lean Manufacturing and discussed cases of successful lean implementation in MSME industries under LMCS Scheme. Ankur Dhir, Senior Consultant discussed the methods to implement Smart Manufacturing and shared videos on Industries 4.0.
About 60 participants from different industries in Jammu region participated in the workshop. SP Singh, Regional Director, NPC, Chandigarh thanked Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) and MSME-DI, Jammu (J&K) for organising this workshop here. While interacting with the participants , Ashwani Kumar Sharma, incharge MSME-DI, Jammu expected that industries will be benefited by the inputs provided by the experts in the workshop.
Several other dignitaries including Ajay Langar, vice president, BBIA, Viraaj Malhotra- general secretary, Rajesh Jain- secretary, Yogesh Aggarwal, Gurmeet Singh from Dabur India Ltd, Nazir Pathan and other prominent industrialists participated in the workshop.
