NPM, KPA hold seminar on return of Pandits

JAMMU, Aug 11: National Peace Movement (NPM) held a seminar at Mumbai on the topic return and rehabilitation of displaced Pandits to Valley.
The seminar was held in collaboration with Kashmiri Pandit Association (KPA) Mumbai.  A galaxy of members of the Association participated in the seminar besides the representatives of NPM. The Mumbai based KPs raised various critical issues during the seminar which among other things included social and economic security of Pandit youth, need for abrogation of Article 370, confidence building measures with majority community, setting up of satellite township/ smart city for community and Central Government’s indifferent attitude towards the migrants issues during last two decades.
Some participants also urged the Union Government to take concrete steps in a time frame manner for resettlement of Pandits in Kashmir while assuring all guarantees.
Prof B L Zutshi while speaking on inalienable rights of KPs also dwelt on many other issues confronting Pandits after migration from Valley. The NPM representatives were led by its president M K Kaul. KPA Mumbai representatives in the seminar included its president S P Kachru, vice president, Mrs Neerna Kher, general secretary Ashwani Bhat and treasurer Dilip Bhat. The seminar was held in KPA Mubai’s newly constructed Cultural Centre Sharda Sadan at Khargar New Mumbai.
