NPP cautions BJP not to ignore aspirations of Jammu people

JAMMU, Feb 28: Despite a sense of outrage and incredulity over the convergence of ‘north pole and south pole’ in the process of Govt formation in J&K State, NPP chairman and former Minister Harshdev Singh has said that the people of Jammu region still nourished the hope that BJP would not disappoint them in fulfilling all its assurances and ensure the incorporation of all its election promises in the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) to be announced immediately after the swearing in ceremony of the new Government.
In a press statement the NPP leader said that it was good that two diametrically opposed political parties were able to iron out their differences and agreed for the formation of the much awaited Govt in the State. He said while PDP had stuck to its guns and refused to compromise on its agenda, the BJP had chosen to keep its cards closed to its chest and had persistently declined to comment on the promises it had so loudly proclaimed for fulfillment at the time of Assembly elections.
He further said that the people of Jammu region, who had given a massive mandate to BJP in the elections with the saffron party achieving an unprecedented feat in the history of the State, had pinned high hopes from the party. He said that the people of Jammu region had reposed profound faith in BJP in the form of overwhelming mandate given to it on the strength of its emphatic assurances and promises made by it in its election manifesto for Assembly elections.
Mr Singh pointed out that Jammu region undoubtedly had suffered at the hands of successive Union and State Govts but it was BJP which had come out most vociferously during the recent Assembly elections and pledging to settle the unresolved issues assuring and re-assuring the people of Jammu that it was their only ‘messiha’ and it being the only Party that could salvage them and ensure them justice.
Mr Harshdev Singh said that the expectations from BJP were very high and the public sentiment was required to be respected by the BJP while announcing the CMP and forming the coalition Government.
