NPP holds plenary session; seeks Statehood, early polls

JAMMU, July 9: J&K National Panthers Party today held a plenary session of its delegates at Jammu under the chairmanship of Vilakshan Singh, President, J&K National Panthers Party. Newly nominated state office bearers, Provincial office Bearer, District office bearers, councillors elected on the party mandate from Udhampur Municipal Council and other delegates of the party participated in the said plenary session.
In the session threadbare discussions were held to chalk out measures required to be taken to revive the party once again. Discussions were also held to make preparations for the parliamentary elections, Assembly Elections, Urban Local Bodies elections and Panchayat elections.
Vilakshan Singh, president of the party, while addressing the party delegates said that people have lost faith in NC, PDP, Congress and BJP. He said that even after reposing faith in central and Kashmir centric parties, the people of J&K particularly of Jammu province have felt deceived. Singh said that there is chaos in the society. Youth are not getting jobs, daily wagers are still awaiting their regularization, pensioners of Social Welfare Department are not getting even the meagre amount of pension which was being paid to them earlier. There is large scale recruitment scams. Businessmen have suffered loss of business and there is no one to pay heed to the grievances of the public.
Singh said that the centre has arbitrarily downgraded the status of J&K from State to Union Territory. Singh said status of Union territory is not acceptable to the residents of J&K.  He said that by delaying Assembly elections salt is being added to the wounds of the residents of J&K. He said that in the absence of the elected Government, the people are feeling dejected. Singh said that J&K National Panthers Party has always stood up for the cause of poor and downtrodden.
During the Session, Rakesh Gupta after resigning from Aam Admi Party joined J&K National Panthers Party and was declared District President of the party for Jammu District. Sanjeev Verma was declared District Vice President of the party for Jammu District. Santosh Kumari also joined the party and was declared Tehsil President R S Pura.
