NPP observes fast against betrayal of BJP MPs

JAMMU, Apr 12: Accusing the BJP of indulging in theatrics by holding fast to protest the disruption of Parliament by opposition, NPP chairman  and former minister Harsh Dev Singh  and State president of Young Panthers Yash Paul Kundal said that having failed to deliver and to fulfill its election promises, the saffron party was trying to hoodwink the people, by such absurd antics.
Having ascended to the throne of power at the Centre and State by its deceptive slogans and false narrative, the BJP was finding it difficult to face the public fury with virtually no output to show on the ground. People were fatigued with the empty rhetoric of BJP and could no longer be misled and cheated by such gimmicks.
Addressing NPP workers who were sitting on fast today against the failure of Jammu BJP MPs to represent their people in the Parliament and to fulfill their election time promises, Harsh Dev said that the people of Jammu had given a massive unprecedented mandate to BJP in Parliament as well as Assembly elections on the strength of high pitched slogans and immensely captivating assurances doled out to them. And not to speak of fulfillment of such assurances, the BJP leaders took a complete U-turn over their professed promises after getting cradled in the cozy cushions of power.
Flaying the BJP for the most cowardly compromise over the issues of Art 370 and 35A,  Singh said that none of the BJP MPs from Jammu ever bothered to even make a mention of such issues in the Parliament or to even initiate a debate upon them despite the abrogation of these articles being the focal point of their seven decade old philosophy. Not only that, the BJP partnered Govt in J&K had hired five leading Advocates of the country to defend Art 35A which had given a shocker of their life time to its electorates.
Similar was the fate of the slogans of grant of rights to West Pak Refugees, one nation one flag and one constitution, the comprehensive settlement of PoK migrants, 5 marla plots to border dwellers in safe zones fresh delimitation etc.
Harsh Dev said that the burning issue of deportation of Rohingyas did not find even a mention inside the Parliament with BJP MPs utterly failing to highlight the most serious security threat to people of Jammu region.
