UDHAMPUR, Jan 31: Seeking a high level probe into the gruesome murder of a 25 year old SC youth of Ramnagar in November last year, the activists of NPP led by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman-JKNPP and Former Minister held a massive protest demonstration at Ramnagar today.
The protestors raised slogans against the Government and local administration for their failure to nab the culprits who had executed the most heinous offence of murder. The protestors alleged persistent harassment and commission of atrocities against dalits in Ramnagar during the last 5 to 6 years and failure of the Government to trace over a dozen murders of poor and destitute people of the constituency during the period.
Speaking on the occasion, Harsh Dev Singh said that not only was Yashpaul reportedly brutally assassinated by the highly emboldened criminals of Ramnagar but more than a dozen murders of poor people mostly SCs during the last 5 to 6 years had gone untraced with the concerned Police authorities silent over the commission of such heinous offences.
He said that BDC Chairperson Ramnagar, BDC Chairperson Chanunta and BDC Chairperson Parly Dhar had reportedly complained about the atrocities on dalits in Ramnagar but the authorities concerned had shamelessly consigned their complaints to the dustbin.
He said that the demands by the Chairpersons for SIT probes into the murders and mysterious deaths of dozens of SC youth in Ramnagar in the past had also been disregarded only because of the involvement of some influential persons enjoying patronage of ruling party.
Asserting that poor and marginalized sections had been endangered in the BJP rule with the helmsmen averse to even the murders of the destitutes, Singh said that NPP would continue to fight for the poor till the last breath.
