JAMMU, Nov 24: Exposing once again the alleged dual faced character of the BJP for its endorsement of appeasement policy on Kashmir and  to release 4500 stone pelters in Kashmir besides denying separate townships for Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley, a large number of J&K National Panthers Party activists led by  party chairman Harsh Dev Singh and State president  Balwant Singh Mankotia staged a strong protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground here today.
The angry protesters shouted anti- BJP slogans and torched its effigy while demanding immediate revocation of the obnoxious decisions which were detrimental to the Nation’s security and its secular ethos.
While criticizing the Saffron party,  Harsh Dev said that there was a complete dichotomy between BJP’s jingoistic slogans and actions which had drawn nationwide criticism and condemnation from the masses. He regretted that instead of taking stringent action against the anti national elements, the GoI preferred to  release 4500 first time stone pelters and drop cases against them as amnesty in a bid to win hearts in Kashmir.
“New Delhi was keen to review the remaining cases against stone pelters in consultation with the PDP-BJP Govt and may also consider rehabilitating the locals who had joined the militant groups”, Harsh quoted the response of the concerned officials.
Flaying the BJP for its support to the separatist agenda on Kashmir, Singh regretted that Saffron party had forgotten its kernel philosophy and once again proven that it could swallow anything for remaining glued to power. He said that these stone pelters provided safe havens to the militants during counter insurgency operations, waged war against the State, torched schools, destroyed police stations and security camps, snatched weapons from armed forces, killed several security personnel and injured thousands of them. “Never before in the history of the State had the brave Indian soldiers been so humiliated as to be heckled, stoned, jeered and manhandled. The Army had dubbed these subversives as security threat and booked them for sedition but amnesty to them would further embolden the secessionists and anti national elements to go on rampage”, Harsh added.
He questioned the State Govt and the BJP in particular that what kind of regime was running in the State where the anti- nationals were released and glorified while the nationalists were booked, quelled and harassed for raising voice against the failures of the unholy alliance.
