NPP resolves to continue its fight for reorganization of J&K

JAMMU, Oct 15: A special session of JKNPP was held here today with a resolution that Jammu and Kashmir shall be reorganized with immediate effect so that twin States are established with Jammu Pradesh and Kashmir valley State whereas Ladakh region should be established as a Union Territory.
The special session was presided over by Harshdev Singh, Chairman of the party and Prof Bhim Singh was the chief guest.
The other important speakers included Balwant Singh Mankotia, P K Ganju Masood Andrabi, Anita Thakur, . Yashpal Kundal, Bansi Lal Sharma, Farooq Ahmad Dar and Rajesh Pargotra. Besides, district presidents and State secretaries also addressed the conference.
Prof. Bhim Singh, in his address, made a strong case before the Union of Indian for the reorganization of the State which he said is the only way out to save the people of Jammu and Kashmir from further death and destruction. He pointed out that Union of the State in 1846 under Treaty of Amritsar is no longer relevant after the Accession of the State with the Union of India in 1947.
Prof Bhim Singh said that the boundaries of Jammu State extend from Muzaffrabad to Kishtwar and the Jammu Pradesh shall be established within the Territory of India till the reunion of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the residents of PoK and Gilgit shall be given a free choice to choose between India and Pakistan.
Besides trifurcation of the State, the JKNPP resolution further States that the Jammu Pradesh and Kashmir valley States shall form a confederation with all civil and political rights available to the States in the country, there shall be one High Court and one Governor in the confederation of Jammu and Kashmir, there shall be a separate Legislative Assembly for each State with minimum 50 MLAs for each State and two legislatures of Kashmir Valley and Jammu Pradesh shall meet once in a year either in Srinagar or in Jammu or in any other place to be decided by the joint session of the two Assemblies.
The next session of JKNPP shall be held at the end of December at a place acceptable to both sides of Jammu and Kashmir.
