UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: Reiterating the demand for Separate Statehood for Jammu, National Panthers Party today held a strong protest demonstration at Slathia Chowk here and announced continuation of the movement for the goal.
While leading the protest, NPP President and former MLA, Balwant Singh Mankotia announced one- day Satyagreh in front of Maharaja Hari Singh’s statue at Jammu on November 1.
He said that year long programme for separate statehood movement, which was launched in 2017, will be further continued from Nov 1. “Separate Statehood for Jammu is the only and ultimate solution to end discrimination with Jammu region because the people of Jammu region have been witnessing discrimination in every field from the last 70 years,” he added and appealed Jammu people to join this movement.
Scores of party activists including senior leaders, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Councillors were also present during the protest.
