NPP stages protest, demands removal of Ban Toll Plaza

UDHAMPUR, May 11: Demanding revision of rates of Toll Tax at Ban Toll Plaza, National Panthers Party (NPP) here today staged a protest demonstration and torched effigy of NHAI.
Leading the protest NPP President, Balwant Singh Mankotia said, few days back at an inaugural function of Highway stretch at Kashmir, Governor, Satya Pal Malik had said that local Kashmiris will be exempted from Toll Tax and the matter has already been taken up with the Center.
Mankotia expressed resentment against favoritism with Kashmir region & step motherly treatment with Jammu region.
He said, in Kashmir, Toll Tax for 65 km stretch is Rs 135 (both sides) whereas for 65 km Udhampur-Jammu stretch it is Rs 200.
The NPP leader demanded permanent removal of Ban Toll Plaza.
