The protesters and workers were carrying flags and banners in their hands and raising echoing slogans expressing their resentment and extreme annoyance triggered by the Saffron Party’s gross sell out before the PDP and Kashmir centric leadership for the lust of power.
They also expressed their solidarity with the Nationalist students of NIT Srinagar who were assaulted by the State police for confronting the anti-nationals raising pro-Pak slogans during the T20 World cup match.
While addressing the large gathering at Gole Market, Harshdev Singh said that the people of Jammu region had voted BJP to power with a overwhelming mandate in the last Assembly elections. He lamented that unfortunately none of the Saffron party’s MLAs could rake up the voice of the people in the Assembly which had immensely dented Dogra pride and honour. He added that BJP had once again cowardly surrendered all the Jammu related issues before the Kashmiri leaders to forge a re-alliance with the PDP.
The BJP totally ignored the Jammu centric issues pertaining to Restoration of AIIMS to Jammu, Smart City for Jammu, regularization of services of daily wagers and contractual employees working in various Govt Departments, regularization of services and release of salaries of ReT teachers, temporary teachers, SPOs, NYC volunteers and other lower rung employees, Delimitation of Assembly constituencies, Relief and rehabilitation of border residents, adequate compensation for Jammu farmers, one time settlement package for PoJK migrants, conferment of State Subject rights to West -Pak refugees, abolition of Custodian  Deptt and ownership rights to the occupants, 33% reservation to Women in J&K Legislative Assembly, Dogra Certificate for Jammu youth etc.
Accusing the BJP of administering obnoxious doze of betrayal to the youth of India and Jammu region in particular, Mr Singh vociferously condemned the unlawful lathi-charge on the Nationalist students who bravely upheld the honour of the ‘Tricolour’ while confronting certain anti-national elements inside the NIT Srinagar campus who celebrated India’s defeat by the Caribbean. Flaying the delinquents who were involved in India bashing and attacking the nationalist students of Jammu and other States, Mr Singh lambasted the State Government for granting amnesty to the stone pelters of Kashmir while slapping FIRs against the students who chanted “Bharat Mata Ka Apmaan, Nahin Sahega Hindustan” during the criminal lathi charge. He deplored the Coalition Government for imposing Sec 144 inside the institute besides detaining the students within the NIT Srinagar campus.
