NEW DELHI/BEIJING, Nov 24: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday held the 21st round of border talks at Dujiangyan City, Chengdu in China.
“(The) 21st round of talks between Special Representatives of India and China on the Boundary question began this morning at Dujiangyan, Chengdu. National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval and Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi hold the discussions,” said an official source.
Mr Doval and Mr Wang are the designated special representatives for border talks.
Among other issues, ways to maintain peace at the borders and review the progress in bilateral ties since the Wuhan Summit in April are said to have figured in parleys on Saturday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held first ever informal Summit with the Chinese President Xi Jinping at Wuhan in April this year.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang earlier this week has presented an upbeat picture of the bilateral ties saying, “We have properly managed the differences through dialogue and consultation. The border areas on the whole maintained stability.”
Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has also said in recent times that both sides have displayed ‘matured diplomacy’ and has able to address various issues between two countries.
