JAMMU, June 26:  Stepping up attack against the administration of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) for its failure to start construction work on the campus, National Secular Forum (NSF) today appealed Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Samriti Irani to review functioning of Centre University of Jammu (CUJ).
The NSF also appealed the Minister to direct CUJ administration to conduct audit of last three years.
Talking to media persons, here today, NSF president Sukhdev Singh lamented that the Chancellor was   not taking note of their demands and maintaining stoic silence over the entire matter. He also condemned the Chancellor for prompting youth to adopt the agitational path instead of redressing their grievances.
Mr Singh further alleged that the varsity has virtually become a rehabilitation center for retired and corrupt officials. “The varsity administration has violated the norms by recruiting the retired teachers and other staff members. As per the Central University Statutes, the serving officials should not be above 65 years but the administration has recruited some teachers who are above 65years,” he said.
The NSF leader alleged that the CUJ administration was ignoring the youth of Jammu region in jobs which were being awarded to non-Jammuites thus playing with the emotions and sentiments of Jammuites.
Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Barket Tahir, Ajaz Shah, Qayoom Malik, Vikram Madhyal, Narinder Singh, Rishikesh Rana, Altaf Mir, and Amit Sanotra.
