NSF demands probe in substandard construction of DDE building

JAMMU, Sept 18: Taking serious note over the dilapidated condition of the newly constructed building of Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), which was commissioned in January 2014, NSF has demanded a probe in construction work of the said building.
Talking to media persons, NSF secretary Amit Sanotra, said that loosening of plaster on walls and seepage of water etc in the new building within the two years of its commissioning, speak at volume that corruption on large scale has been done by the executing agencies in connivance with the University officials.
“This is brazen misuse of the Public exchequer and a high level enquiry should be initiated by the authorities into this matter so that strict action may be taken against those responsible for the same,” he said and informed that the said building was constructed at a huge cost of Rs 4.5 crore.
