NSF donates money for Uttarakhand, Doda victims

JAMMU, July 10: Extending a helping hand to the victims of Uttarakhand disaster and earthquake victims in erstwhile Doda district, National Secular Forum (NSF) has donated Rs 30,150 for the affected people.
The donation amount, collected by NSF from the students in Jammu region, was handed over to the Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar for forwarding the same to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Lida Singh, wife of the Vice-Chancellor and JUTA president J P Singh Joorel were also present on the occasion.
A delegation of NSF, led by its State president Dr Vikas Sharma, called on the Vice Chancellor and handed him over the cheque of collected money. Dr Sharma said that they had collected money from the students of various institutions who donated generously from their monthly pocket money.
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the NSF activists and described it as a humanitarian act. He appraised the social service of the NSF in all fields of life and assured all support to the organization for such kinds of social works.
Among those who part of delegation included, Sukhdev Singh, Akshey Sharma, Dr Shafqat Malik, Barket Tahir, Uday Singh and others.
