JAMMU, Apr 23: Flaying Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for continuously ignoring educated Jammu youth in respect of selection for jobs, National Secular Forum has reiterated that separate statehood to Jammu was the only way out to end 67 years long discrimination with the people of this region.
In a statement, NSF State president Vikas Sharma drew attention towards recent selection list of 10 + 2 Lecturers.
“Out of total 59 posts of lecturer in Chemistry, 41 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 18 candidates from Jammu while in the RBA category, out of total 21 posts, 16 candidates are from Kashmir province and only five are from Jammu,” he said.
Similarly, he added, out of total 34 posts of 10+2 Lecturer in Urdu, 30 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and four from Jammu. In the RBA category out of total 11 posts, 07 candidates are from Kashmir province while 04 are from Jammu.
Dr Vikas also informed that out of total 29 posts of 10+2 lecturer in English, 25 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 04 from Jammu while in the RBA category, out of total 10 posts, 07 candidates are from Kashmir province and only 03 are from Jammu.
The NSF leader also reminded about the similar discrimination meted out to Jammu region in recent selection of candidates for the posts of Assistant Professors in Higher education Department.
Dr Vikas Sharma held the PDP-BJP coalition Government responsible for this discrimination with Jammu. He particularly took the BJP MLAs to task for maintaining stoic silence on the issue and reiterated that separate statehood to Jammu was the only solution to end their discrimination at the hands of Kashmiri rulers.
