JAMMU, June 11: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged a protest demonstration against State Government for its failure to provide proper infrastructure, staff and other facilities in the colleges for running PG courses.
More than two dozen protesters assembled on the campus of Jammu University and shouted slogans against the State Government and Higher Education Minister.
While addressing the protesters, NSF president Sukhdev Singh said that State Government’s announcement to start 14 PG courses in different Degree colleges of Jammu division and 28 PG course in Kashmir division colleges is only a fraud to strengthen their vote bank. “PG courses are already running from various Degree Colleges, but so far requisite infrastructure has not been provided by the State Government to these colleges and now it has announced to start more PG courses, which is appearing to be a hoax”, he explained.
Sukhdev Singh alleged total adhocism in Higher Education Department and demanded immediate intervention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for creation of infrastructure in Degree Colleges as well as filling up the vacant posts there.
Those who attended the protest included, Ajaj Shah, Barket Ali, Qayoom Malik, Vikram Madhyal, Altaf Hussain, Balbinder Singh, Mukhtiar, Pawan Singh, Bhupinder, and others.
