NSF seeks adjustment of DDE students in regular departments

Jammu, Aug 25: The National Secular Forum (NSF) has castigated the authorities of Jammu University (JU) for playing with the future of students who are enrolled in PG courses in Economics and Political Science at Directorate of Distance Education.
Addressing a press conference here, district president Rishikesh Rana, condemned the JU authoritative stand of closing PG courses of Economics and Political Science in the mid-session leaving the students in utter dismay. “The students have completed first and second semester studies and they were about to take admission in third semester when order of closure was issued by the Varsity authorities,” he said.
“It is the criminal negligence and ignorance on the part of University authorities particularly Coordinator of both the courses”. Who failed to prepare study material of the their respective courses and also to fulfill the criteria of University Grants Commission (UGC), he elaborated.
The NSF demanded action against the erring Course Coordinators and adjustment of the students in the regular departments of the University so that innocent won’t suffer. The students’ body also sought intervention of Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor into the matter to safeguard the interests of the student community who are suffering due to negligence and incompetence on the part of University officials.
