JAMMU, May 28: A day after the University of Jammu effected administrative reshuffle, the National Secular Forum (NSF) today came down heavily on varsity administration for promoting nepotism and favouritism on the campus.
Talking to the media persons here, Surjit Choudhary, NSF State senior vice-president said it was shocking that the Vice-Chancellor has appointed Professor Manoj K Dhar as new Registrar of the varsity who had been proved as a big failure during his previous assignment of Controller of Examinations.
“The irony is that the officers, who failed in delivering effective administration, are being promoted and appointed on key positions of the varsity. It is an open secret that Prof Dhar miserably failed in streamlining examination system and despite widespread resentment among students and faculty, he has been appointed on top most administrative post in the varsity which is grave injustice with the students,” Choudhary said.
He also took on the Vice-Chancellor for maintaining a criminal silence on nepotism and favouritism in The Business School of the varsity and demanded that strict action should be initiated against the Director of the school.
Among those who were present in the press-conference included Pushpinder Singh, Vikram Madhyal, Rishikesh Rana and Rahul Sharma.
