JAMMU, Apr 21: NSF has appealed the Chief Minister and Governor not to accord their approval to the Jammu University proposal for enhancement of superannuation age of State university faculty from 62 to 65 years.
In a statement, NSF State president Dr Vikas said that unemployment was the major problem being faced by educated youth and enhancement in retirement age would be injustice to these thousands of unemployed youth.
He further said that in developed countries, the Government employees were demanding reduction in retirement age but in India especially in Jammu and Kashmir, the university employees are pressing for enhancement in retirement age.
He opposed the JU proposal, which is allegedly being presented in scheduled Council meeting tomorrow, and appealed the Governor, who is also Chancellor of Jammu University, to personally intervene and turn down the illogical agenda items.
