JAMMU, June 25: National Secular Forum today accused the Jammu University administration of misusing students’ money for its own comforts and appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to take cognizance of the irregularities.
Talking to media persons, here today, NSF District President Roshan Sharma said that the fees are being increased by 10 percent every year but there has been no improvement in the facilities for the students.
“There is not even water cooler facility available when the temperature is touching the sky in this sweltering heat,” he said and demanded that the JU administration should install at least 10 water coolers at different spots on the campus so that students and employees can quench their thirst in this hot summer.
The NSF leader alleged that Jammu University administration was not going to Double Bench of the court in order to give benefit to some of its blue eyed people, whereas in the case of others, court verdicts are challenged in the Double Bench.
He further alleged that even in the contractual appointments, there is deep nexus between the teaching wing and some departments as teachers are not given where they are needed and the vice-versa is seen.
NSF District President claimed that new vehicles are being purchased with the students’ money but no facilities are being provided to the students. There is only one Central Library in the University for the student to study and no one is thinking in the JU administration to construct new building for accommodating more students. He further alleged that no rules are being followed for appointments and promotions in the University.
The NSF leader appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to constitute a high level inquiry to find out what is going on in the university.
