NSUI, NSF pay tributes to student martyrs; JJSF fast enters 2nd day

JAMMU, Oct 17: As the ongoing three- day fast by JJSF at Shaheedi Sthal, GGM Science  College  Jammu,   entered into 2nd day on Monday, more student organizations and individuals visited the memorial site for  paying their homage to the student martyrs of 1966
Four JJSF activists, namely  Lakshdeep Singh Jamwal, Clinton Sharma, Shubham Chaudhary and Vivek Parihar are   observing  three- day fast  since yesterday  as a mark of respect and for  peace to  these martyrs.
Addressing the students and others at the Shaheedi Sthal ,  Rajinder Jamwal  highlighted  the sacrifices of these great martyrs and said that JJSF has been seeking  an inspiration from  sacrifices of these martyrs.
“Shifting of Agriculture College from R S Pura (Jammu) to Sopore Kashmir  in 1966, speaks of the volumes of the discrimination and neglect being meted to Jammu at in the hands of successive rulers of Delhi and Kashmir.   Jammu was always discriminated be it the case  of  REC  in 1968, SKIMS  in 1980s and all other institutes of importance, which were opened in Kashmir. But it is never too late as Narender Modi Government  at Delhi has now offered bonanza for Jammuities with all top institutes of country including AIIMS, IIT, IIM and what not and this has  obviously frustrated twitter savvy Omar Abdullah,”  Jamwal said.
Kuldeep Chib,  Sonu Sharma,  Pushvinder Singh,  Rajinder Singh Munna and Jatinder Chib also addressed the gathering.
Meanwhile,  NSF activists visited Shaheedi Sthal at  GGM Science College and paid their tributes to the student martyrs. Led by  NSF president Vikas Sharma, they also observed a two-minute silence in  memory on the martyrs and prayed for  their peace.
Speaking on the occasion,  Vikas Sharma  said that these martyrs will always remain a  source of  inspiration for those  raising their voice against the discrimination with Jammu region. He also urged the student community to remain vigilant and be ready for sacrifices for the nationalistic cause to end the sufferings of student community of Jammu division.
NSUI activists also visited the memorial  and paid their tributes to the student martyrs. Led by Sahil Singh Jamwal,  NSUI senior vice president,  Jammu province,  they  observed a two-minute silence and recalled the supreme  sacrifice  of these student martyrs.
The NSUI activists were also addressed by Sahil Singh, Ratesh  and Vivek.
While paying floral tributes to the student martyrs at Shaheedi Sthal , chairman of the Team Jammu,  Zorawar Singh Jamwal said that entire Jammu province is indebted to these student martyrs  who had sacrificed their lives for the future of Jammu.
“Since 1947 people of Jammu region have been giving sacrifices to live a dignified life but unfortunately the successive Governments have meted out a step motherly treatment with nationalist people of Jammu”,  Zorawar Singh  regretted and rued that that in a so-called democratic set up of J&K,  people of Jammu region have been discriminated by the ruling elites with one or other way.
