JAMMU, Mar 30: For the third consecutive day, NSUI today held another symbolic  protest by holding  begging pots in their hands to show their anger and resentment against the draconian SRO 202.
The protest was held at Vikram Chowk Jammu, under the leadership of State president Raqeeq Khan. The protesting NSUI activists raised slogans against the State Government  and SRO-202.
While addressing the protest demonstration, Raqeeq Khan   dubbed  the new recruitment policy as highly exploitative and discriminatory. He  said that SRO 202 is de-incentivising the youth of J&K and not letting them lead a dignified life even after putting in all the hard work and securing a Government job. He alleged  that because of this SRO 202,  youth are joining militancy and in Jammu youths have no other option except this begging pot.
“SRO 202 is breeding discontent among the employed youth who have been pushed into an abyss where they are worried about their terrible financial condition most of the times thereby not being able to concentrate on their duties,” he said adding that this will lead to inefficiency in the working of the administration as there is no motivation or incentive for the young people to work hard.
NSUI State vice president Amjad Bhat also addressed the gathering  and said that they  were  receiving a positive response on this movement against SRO 202 from all nook and corners of the State,  especially from Kashmir. Claiming that  youths of Kashmir are aware of their rights, he requested Jammu youths to  come forward and fight for their rights.  “We are not fighting for one region or a district,  this is the fight of whole State and we are representing all the youths of State,” he added and appealed the State Government to reconsider its new recruitment policy.
Senior NSUI leaders,  who took part in the protest, included Shadab Khan , Ajay Kumar , Umar Wani , Shahid Ayoub, Rahul Bhagat,  Waseem Gandhi , Akshay Sharma,  Sunil Bhardwaj, Mohd Hussain, Rouf Khan, Anuj Manhas and Satish Rajput.
