Nuisance caused by stray animals

I want to draw the attention of the concerned authorities and the general public towards the sufferings of the residents of Udhampur City, due to the nuisance caused by the stray animals during day and night. The stray animals have become a great nuisance for the pedestrians as well as for the drivers of the vehicles. They cause frequent traffic jams and accidents.
The very other day my relative was riding a scooty. Suddenly, a stray horse appeared from nowhere just in the middle of the road. In spite of my best efforts to avoid the collision with the animal, I had a nasty accident resulting in a fracture in my relative’s left leg. Such scenes have become the order of the day. Sometimes rows of stray cows and bulls block the road and cause traffic jams and accidents. We have made complaints to the concerned authorities but no action has been taken so far in this regard.
We hope the concerned authorities will rise from their slumber and take immediate remedial measures to deal with this nuisance.

Power shortage in Kupwara
Residents of this frontier district are up in arms against the Power Development Department as they are facing unscheduled power cuts. The Department doesn’t adhere to the schedule due to which the students preparing for examination are facing hardships.
When PDD installed meters in our area we were told that we would get power supply round the clock, but its  promises turned out to be a hoax.  The situation in un-metered and remote villages of Kupwara,Langate, Handwara,Kralpora,Trehgam,Hayhama and valley Lolab  is no different. Many remote villages, including    Badkoot, Rajpora, Kalmoona, Hafrada, Rangward, Marseri, Shalal and Sudal, are facing acute power shortage. In Drugmulla, Vodhpora, Muhgalpora, power supplied from Arampora grid station is disrupted after every half an hour
Residents of Kupwara,Tikker,Hirri,Drugmulla, Trehgam and Kralpora complained that power plays hide and seek and during night hours the supply goes off for hours together. “Unscheduled power cuts have become order of the day and students are the worst sufferers.

PCDA Narwal road in pathetic condition
We,  the residents of Narwal Pain and Jiwan Nagar, Jammu want to draw the attention of Jammu Cantonment Board, PWD (R&B), Floriculture Department and Municipal authorities towards the worst condition of the following areas which have remained unattended for the last so many years:-
The PCDA Narwal Pain road which connects R S Pura Road with Jiwan Nagar and Narwal areas is in worst condition due to lack of black-topping. Not to talk of Motor Vehicles, one cannot walk on the stones and mud trenches on it. Heaps of stones are lying on the road.
The Jiwan Nagar road which passes through the Jiwan Nagar locality has not been attended for more than last 15 years. Heaps of rubbish are lying on the road. Drain on roadside is in  worst condition. Even during low intensity rain there are ponds of mud water. Residents and school going children, of Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School on the roadside, are unable to pass from the damp area. No action has been taken by the PWD (R&B) after repeated requests and unfilled assurances given by the former MLA of the area and former Cabinet Minister.
The road side park constructed on the bank of the canal has lights broken and not functioning since their installation.
The high mast lights in the Jiwan Nagar Chowk are lying defunct for the last two and half years.
The overall condition of the area is worst and needs kind attention of the concerned authorities on priority.

 Make Kanthia a Tehsil
The public of village Kanthi (Ramban) demands tehsil (New Administrative Unit) at Village Kanthi which is a Centre place of seven villages i.e. village Damote-A, Damote-B, Ahdwa Ganote, Kanthi, Neera and Dhanotrath. The public of this far flung area also demands Nibat at Ganote and CD Block at Damote which is ignore by former State Government.
The public of village Kanthi  also demands Patwar Khanna at Kanthi instead of Damote which is already functioning for the last 30 years and now attached with Damote which is objectionable. Hope the new administration would take this matter into consideration.

Repair Lakshmi Vihar Lane
It is to bring in the notice of the Jammu Municipal Corporation that Lane No. 9, Lakshmi Vihar (Tomal) Anand Nagar Bohri Jammu near Lakshmi Palace is riddled with ditches. It may please to be repaired and black topped. The by-lanes of the said lane are since long kacha and it makes difficult for people to walk on those rough roads/lanes especially in the rainy season.
It has become a routine for people of this area to dump garbage here and there. As such it is requested that a safaikaramchari may please be deputed to the said area for cleaning the colony. Moreover, three or four dustbins may also be installed at different places. It is also requested that street lights may be installed in the area.
Further, I want to say that the end of the Lane No. 9, there is a nallah having a pully over it. During the rains it overflows and the water enters the colony. The people living in that part, face numerous problems on account of it.
Therefore, it is requested to the concerned authorities that steps be taken to redress the problems of this colony at the earliest.
