Number of Indian recruits to IS is negligible: Rajnath

NEW DELHI : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the issues of Kashmiri youth joining terror groups was on the highest priority of the Centre, but the number of Indian recruits to IS was negligible.

The Home Minister also said there was an improvement in the security situation in the State with the number of infiltrations from across the border having come down during the past one year.

In 2013, there were 277 attempts at infiltration and 97 terrorists had managed to cross into the State, but this year the number of infiltration attempts had come down to 86 and only 10 terrorists could get success in infiltrating the State.

Moreover since 2013, 266 terrorists had been killed, and 165 of them were gunned down after the coming into power of the BJP-PDP alliance. (AGENCIES)
