Numberdar killed, 2 injured in mishap

JAMMU, July 28: A Numberdar was killed while two others were injured today when a tractor-trolley rolled down and plunged into a deep gorge under the jurisdiction of police post Chowki Choura in Akhnoor area of Jammu.
According to the reports, a tractor trolley carrying cement bags fell down into a deep gorge along Kathar Road, about 2 kilometres from Chowki Choura, when the driver lost control over the vehicle this evening.
Besides driver, two persons including a Numberdar namely Nand Lal (70) son of Raj Path, resident of Chagyal, were on board the vehicle when it met with the accident. Locals informed Chowki Choura police which reached the spot within no time and started rescue operation along with locals.
All the three persons including driver of the vehicle were evacuated and shifted to Government Hospital, Chowki Choura, but doctors there referred two of them namely Nand Lal and Ramesh Lal son of Gian Chand, resident of Gangal (Chowki Choura), to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Nand Lal was pronounced as brought dead by the doctors while condition of Ramesh Lal was stated to be stable.
The dead body of the deceased was sent for postmortem while a case FIR number 115/20 under Section 279/337/IPC was registered in this connection at police station Akhnoor and further investigation started.
