Nursing Association chief calls for safety in hospitals

JAMMU, Nov 6: J&K Nursing Association president Pawanjeet Kour has strongly condemned the assault on Junior Nursing Staff Rahul Kotwal of Doda who was posted at Government Medical College (GMC) Kathua and appealed to the administration and police to take strict action against the culprit.
Addressing a meeting of the Association, she called upon the police administration to ensure that the accused receives highest punishment prescribed under the law for such a crime.
“The incident has once again exposed security lapses in managing the hospitals. The administration has failed to provide safe and secure atmosphere for the healthcare workers in the hospitals in performing their duties smoothly,” she said and called upon the authorities to ensure safety and security of the staff.
