NYC employees seek regularization

JAMMU, July 7: The Jammu and Kashmir NYC Employees Association has demanded regularization of the NYC volunteers engaged by the Government in various departments.
Expressing serious concern over the delay being caused by the Government on their repeated pleas of regularization, senior members of the Association Reyaz Ahmed and Mohsin Gulzar said that presently the NYCs are deployed in departments like Education, Rural Development, Health, Social Welfare, Revenue, Regional Transport Office, YSS etc and they are getting a meager amount of Rs 2500 per month.

They said the Association many times represented the Government demanding changing regularization pattern of the NYCs and provide all the benefits which are given to a Government employee but the Government was adopting delaying tactics. They said these NYCs must be considered at par with ReT, ReZ, ReK employees in the best interest of justice.
They pointed out that Government had constituted a committee on Feb 14, 2019 in this connection but the recommendations of the committee are yet pending. They had also met the Lt Governor on Feb 13, 2020 and narrated the whole matter but nothing has happened till today. They demanded that their demands be settled without any more delay.
