NYC holds protest, demand absorption in Govt Deptts

JAMMU, Sept 8: All J&K National Youth Corps (NYC) Association today held a protest demonstration against State and Central Government for neglecting 8000 youth of the State working in different Government Departments as a supporting staff, and demanded their absorption against vacant posts.
A large number of NYC members from different districts of Jammu Division started gathering at Press Club, Jammu, wherein they held a strong protest demonstration, demanding continuation of their services in their respective departments under a perfect policy, besides enhancement in their basic monthly payment.
The president of the Association, Jammu Division, Asif Ali Bhat, addressing the protestors said that after 2010 unrest in Kashmir, State Government deployed us in different Government departments as a supporting staff and all of us were in the age group of 18 to 24 at that time. We were at top merits in the concerned Panchayats or Blocks and also seeking regular education but while making deployment the Government took Affidavit from us that we will not seek education in regular mode and now after two years of tenure, the Government is not paying due attention to our demands, which can make our future secure, he further added.
State general secretary, Yasar Arfat, said that despite approaching various Government representatives at various times, we get nothing except hollow assurances. Seeing our future in dark, we are suffering from mental harassment also, he added.
He further said that the future of the State will no long sustain by putting the future of 8000 NYC members in dark. He maintained that they are determined to fight till the redressal of their demands.
State joint secretary, Sayed Bakar Ali Jafri pointed out that a large number of vacancies are available in Government Departments, and we (8000 youths) have already experience in our field, then why the Government is hesitating to absorb us against these vacant posts.
