JAMMU, June 18: Demanding regularization, National Youth Corps (NYC) Association today held a protest demonstration as a part of their recently announced protest calendar.
Hundreds of NYC volunteers led by district president Sunil Chouhan assembled at Press Club and raised slogans against the Government for not redressing their demands.
Addressing the gathering, Sunil Chouhan said 8000 NYCs were engaged with different Government Departments and have rendered over 2 years service and now the Government is implementing use and throw policy, which is not bearable at all.
He demanded regularization of their services under perfect policy, enhancement in honorarium and continuation of their service in the same departments they were serving in.
Chouhan urged the Chief Minister to personally intervene into the matter and redress the issues of the NYC volunteers at the earliest.
Among others who spoke were Jagdeep Singh, Suresh Sharma, Deepika Sharma, Sukhwinder Kour, Sunil Rajput, Surinder and Varinder Kour.
