NYC on 3-day hunger strike

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Nov 23: National Youth Corps (NYC) today resorted to hunger strike here in front of the office of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, against the State Government’s use and throw policy.
A large number of NYC youth under the leadership of State vice-president, Asif Ali Bhat, gathered in front of the office of Divisional Commissioner’s office, Jammu to press for their demands.
While addressing the gathering, Bhat said that they have put their demands various times in front of the Government, but time and again, State Government failed to redress our burning demands.
He urged the Government to continue their services under such a policy by which they can save their future. Besides he also demanded conversion of their monthly honorarium into salary, enhancement of salary and continuation of their service in the same department where they were working for last two years.
He further said that hunger strike started by the NYC is a matter of shame for the State Government, as the Government has forced NYC youth to adopt the path of hunger strike.
We can cross any extent to redress our genuine demands and are ready to fight till death, said State Joint Secretary, Sayed Bakar Ali Jafri.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, Tanveer, Gourav, Jagdeep Singh and Mohinder Singh.
