JAMMU, Feb 22: All Jammu and Kashmir National Youth Corps Association (NYCA) today hold a protest demonstration here at Press Club against the negligent attitude of the Government towards their demand of issuance of formal orders of their continuation in their respective departments.
Addressing the protestors, State joint secretary, NYCA, Sayed Bakar Jafri, said they put up their demands various times in front of the Government, but no effective step was taken except for giving verbal assurances.
We are performing our duties in our respective departments since 2010, when there was unrest in Kashmir but till date no formal orders of engagement are issued so far while as our services have continuously been taken by the Government, Jafri said, adding this careless attitude of the Government is turning their future towards darkness, which would not be bearable to them at any cost.
Press secretary, Bopinder Singh Charak said their’s was not a back door entry; they were engaged on merit basis. “Whenever we approached the Government representatives with our demands, they assured us that their matter is already taken up with the Central Government, then why the Government has failed to fulfill our demands”, he asked.
State advisor of the Association, Mushtaq Bhat demanded their continuation of services under such a policy which may secure their future. He warned the State Government to get ready to face agitation if their demands are not redressed soon.
