JAMMU, Mar 5: The hunger strike of NYC youths from Jammu and Kashmir in support of their demand for permanent absorption in the respective departments enters 17th day today at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
“It is a great injustice with 8000 NYC youths by the Centre as well as State Government, which have engaged us on merit basis in 2010, when there was unrest in Kashmir and now none of them is hearing our issues. The State is redirecting us to Centre and Centre to State and nobody is taking responsibility”, said State president, All J&K National Youth Corps Association, Asif Ali Bhat.
He said that they (NYC Youths) time and again presented their genuine demands in front of Government in a democratic way but Government did nothing and just gave verbal assurances. He blamed the Government for bringing their future towards darkness, saying if Government had no perfect policy for them then why it engaged them.
He further said that due to use and throw policy of the Government, their future is hanging in balance as they had already left their studies at the time of their engagement in their respective departments when Government took undertaking from them to stop their studies.
It is pertinent to mention here that NYC youths are demanding their permanent absorption in their respective departments on available vacancies, conversion of their monthly honorarium into salary and clearing all pending dues.
