JAMMU, Dec 22: The 68th Foundation Day of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association (NZIEA), representing LIC employees of Northern Zone, was celebrated by NZIEA Srinagar Division under the leadership of Pawan Gupta, NZIEA divisional secretary.
Flag of the Association was hoisted on this occasion by NZIEA vice president, Dinesh Kumar Sharma. Speaking on the occasion Pawan Gupta said that NZIEA was formed on December 22, 1956 and LIC employees under the banner of NZIEA have been able to protect LIC till date by their struggles and they will continue to fight against the wrong policies of Central Government which are leading to selling of public sector undertakings, inflation, unemployment, loss of jobs etc.
He also talked about the sacrifices by previous leaders due to which the present LIC employees have achieved their rights.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Rajesh Gupta and Raj Kumar Sharma, joint secretaries; Rajesh Kumar, treasurer; Raj Kumar, office secretary; Priya Sharma, Shunali Gupta and Neeraj Bhagat—women sub-committee members; Dharminder Kumar, Nanak Chand, Kishore Lal and others.
The programme at Srinagar was led by Aadil, Amarjeet Singh, Ajaz Ah Dar and Javed Bukhari while in Jammu the programme was organised by R.P Singh, at Kathua by Vijay Verma and Mohan Lal; Samba by Surat Singh; R.S Pura by Jagdish; Udhampur by Sham Singh and Moti Ram; Rajouri by Vikas and Vinod Sharma; Doda by Ram Raj; Poonch by Raj Kumar and in Rajouri by Vikas Sharma and Vinod Sharma.
