NZIEA holds 11th Divisional Conference

JAMMU, June 2: Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association (NZIEA) held 11th Divisional Conference, in which delegates from all over the State participated.
During the conference, it was decided to launch agitation on various issues including prize rise, unemployment, attack on labour laws and social security to workers in organised and un-organised sectors. The participants also decided to be a part of the joint struggle and took pledge to counter all the moves of UPA Government.
The global financial development report 2012 prepared by World Economic Forum has ranked LIC of India on first positions and public sector general insurance company on 3rd position in the world on the basis of insurance density. Despite best performance by public sector LIC, UPA Government is hell bent to destroy LIC.
“Hue and cry by the Government for the FDI is a farce actually, the FDI in insurance sector is the dictates of neo-liberalisms forces, which are constantly after UPA Government to capture the house hold savings of the people of this country, the speakers said.
They added that the insurance employees of the country will continue to fight back the ill designs of the imperialist power through public awareness programmes and meeting intellectuals of the country including member of parliaments.
Insurance employees also resolved to go on one day strike in case the Government places Insurance Law (Amendment 2008 Bill) and get it passed through manipulations in the Parliament.
The deliberations were guided by AK Bhatnagar, general secretary, Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association (NZIEA).
During the conference, AM Tantray and Pawan Gupta were elected as divisional president and divisional secretary respectively.
