Oath administered to Distt Judges for first time

Registrar General of High Court administering oath to newly appointed District Judges at Srinagar on Monday.

SRINAGAR, Aug 12: In order to instill a sense of responsibility and to remind Judges of their continuous commitment to uphold the constitution, sovereignty and integrity of India, Chief Justice, M M Kumar has introduced for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir the practice of administration of oath to the newly appointed District Judges.
On the directions of Chief Justice in this regard, Registrar General of High Court, Suresh Kumar Sharma today admitted oath of office to seven newly appointed District Judges namely—Haq Nawaz Zargar, Tahir Khursheed Raina, Shazia Tabasum, Tasleem Arief, Sonia Gupta, Rajinder Sapru and Naseer Ahmad Dar.
All the newly appointed District Judges swore in the name of Almighty God that they would bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of State as by law established. They will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India and perform the duties of their respective offices to the best of their abilities without fear or favour, affection or ill-will and will uphold the Constitution and the laws.
Mohammad Yousaf Akhoon, Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, Aijaz Ahmed Mir, Registrar Judicial, High Court Srinagar Wing and Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Joint Registrar Judicial/Protocol, High Court were also present on the occasion.
