JAMMU, Oct 30: The OBC community members under the banner of United Forum have resolved to take out OBC Adhikar Tiranga Yatra from Nov Ist to Nov 3, 2022 in various parts of Jammu district.
A spokesman of the United Forum of different OBC organizations including All J&K OBC Mahasabha and All India Backward Classes Federation said that fourth OBC Adhikar Tiranga Yatra will be taken from Satwari Block, March and Bhalwal Block on November Ist. It will start from Kashyap Rajput Sabha, Moti Bazar Jammu initially at 10.30 am on Nov Ist, 2022.
He said in this connection a joint meeting of various OBC organisations was held at Marh today, where in the speakers expressed strong resentment over the discriminatory behavior of Union Government led by Narendra Modi. They said that Modi Government has failed to implement Mandal Commission report in the J&K UT even after three years of breaking state into two UTs.
Kasturi Lal Basotra, Chairman OBC Mahasabha; Bansi Lal Choudhary- convenor OBC Mahasabha and Faquir Chand Satia , president All India Backward Classes Federation, J&K expressed strong resentment over the indifferent attitude of the Modi Government for not implementing Mandal Commission Report in J&K. They also rejected the Justice GD Sharma Commission Report and claimed that it was against the interests of the other backward classes.
Capt (Retd) Sat Pal Mehra alleged that 10 % reservation was accorded by this Government to the EWS of upper castes within ten days but 27 % reservation was being denied to the OBCs as identified by Mandal Commission, in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
Several other members including Ganesh Dass Verma, Madan Lal Baldotra, Rajinder Sikka, Raj Kumar Chalotra , M L Pawar, Mohd Shabir, Jai Pal Kashyap also spoke on the occasion.
