OBC certificate issue raised with DC

JAMMU, Nov 24: On directions of Braham Jyot Satti, president BJP OBC Morcha JK-UT, a delegation led by Sunil Prajapati, Morcha publicity secretary met DC Jammu, Sushma Chauhan and discussed problems in getting OBC certificate.
Delegation members said thousands of students from OBC categories are unable to get government jobs, admissions in various colleges and scholarships as they do not have OBC certificate as getting it requires many documents including revenue records.
They also said OBC people are also unable to get loan under PMEGP and other schemes as they lack this certificate.
The DC listened problems of the delegation and issued on spot telephonic order to the concerned Tehsils saying community certificate from registered organisation can be used in case an applicant don’t has revenue records. She also said that such candidates can also submit an affidavit.
A handout claimed that the DC also said that from now onwards only income certificate will be required for renewal of OBC certificate.
Braham Jyot thanked DC Jammu for her positive response.
