OBC Mahasabha not to vote for Cong, NC candidates

JAMMU, Apr 5: OBC (Other Backward Classes) Mahasabha has chalked out a strategy not to vote for Congress-National Conference candidates during Lok Sabha and Assembly elections till implementation of 27% reservation to OBCs in Jammu and Kashmir.
Decision to this effect was taken in a core group meeting of OBC Mahasabha held under the chairmanship of Kasturi Lal Basotra, president Sain Samaj and attended by Ajudhiya Kumar Manawa, president Prajapati Sabha, Madan Lal Dogra, ex-president Kashyap Rajput Sabha, Bansi Lal Choudhary, convenor OBC Mahasabha, and Charan Jeet Chargotra. Senior Advocate BL Kalgotra was the chief guest.
The meeting decided to continue its protest of torch light processions till full implementation of Mandal Commission Report in Jammu and Kashmir. It also decided to hold protest rallies at all blocks, tehsils and districts especially at town level as per schedule decided by the core group meeting.
Others who spoke were Mohd Latif, Sayed Abdullah, Manohar Lal, Tirath Ram Sodi, Kasturi Lal Manhas, Vishal Choudhary, Mohd Rafiq and Mohd Yousaf.
