He said JK-UT Government has mentioned in the JK Reorganisation Act-2019 that the erstwhile State Governments State Reservation Act-2004 will remain in force.
He demanded that the JK-UT Government should implement 27% reservation in JK-UT Government services as per Central Laws for Mandal Commission identified Jammu & Kashmir OBCs as per the Supreme Court Judgment dt. 16.11.1992 on Mandal Commission report.
Raj Kumar Chalotra, senior comrade of OBCs said that continuing of State Reservation Act-2004 by the present Government of JK-UT which is functioning under the Union Government of BJP means they have forgotten their slogan of “Ek Vidhan Ek Savidhan” for the whole country. So the JK-UT Government should revoke State Reservation Act-2004 and implement the reservation rules as applicable in Union Government as JK has become a Union Territory now, he added.
Mohan Lal Pawar general secretary of OBC Mahasabha disclosed that The Upper caste masses EWS which means other than S/C, S/T and OBCs have been provided 10% reservation in the Central Government and JK-UT Government services under Article 16(4) and why vertical reservation in JK-UT services on the basis of Language (Pahari speaking people) and on Area Basis so PSP and RBA/ALC+IB type of reservation should be dropped from the vertical reservation under socially and educationally backward classes as these masses are enjoying multiple options of reservations i.e share of Mandal Commission identified OBCs.
