JAMMU, Feb 23: The members of Other Backward Classes will take out OBC Adhikar Tiranga rally from Jammu on Feb 26 to attract the attention of Govt towards the implementation of Mandal Commission report in the JKUT.
In this connection, a team lead by Kasturi Lal Basotra, Chairman Jammu & Kashmir OBC Mahasabha along with Mohan Lal Pawar, general secretary, Abdul Qadir general secretary, Dhobi Welfare Central Committee and Bansi Lal Choudhary, convener OBC Adhikar Tiranga Yatra visited several villages and towns in Katra and Reasi including Pabbar, Dera Baba Bandha Bahadur, Akhli Buthan, Karua, Panasa, Kheral, Pouni, Devak and Pambala and educated the community people about their rights and proposed Tiranga rally programme.
The team held series of meetings during their tour and detailed about the programmes of OBC Adhikar Tiranga Yatra. They said Yatra is being taken out from Feb 26 to 29. The main purpose of this yatra is to educate OBC masses about their fundamental constitutional rights and their duties towards their Nation besides implementation of 27% reservation in JK-UT for OBCs.
This eighth “OBC Adhikar Tiranga Yatra “ will start from Maharaja Hari Singh Park near the bank of river TAWI in Jammu adjoining to Press Club Jammu on Feb 26, 2024 at 10.00 am and will hold programmes at Gumat Chowk-Vivekanand Chowk-Prem Nagar-Gurjar Nagar-Nagrota-Suketar-Dhansal-Jindrah-Kishanpur-Manwal and Udhampur. Next day it will leave for Katra, Reasi and Sunderbani and then back to Jammu.
