OBCs demand 27% reservation

Srinagar, Oct 7:The All India Backward Classes Union today demanded enhancement of reservation for the backward classes upto 27 percent as per the recommendation of the Mandal report.
While addressing a press conference, State president of the AIBCU Abdul Majid Malik said  that only one OBC certificate and not OSC certificates should be issued.
He further demanded that the income criteria for providing scholarships to the OBC should be abolished, reservation in the Legislative Assembly and Council, renewal of certificates on the basis of income every year, appointment of members and chairperson to Backward Commission from among OBCs, OSCs, allotment of plots for landless OBCs and financial assistance to OBC students.
