JAMMU, Mar 23: All J&K OBC Mahasabha today announced to hold protest rallies at Khour, Jourian and Bishnah in the month of April to press the Government to consider their demands positively.
Addressing a core group meeting of Mahasabha , its chairman, Kasturi Lal Basotra said that the process of holding Mashal rallies and Dharnas will remain continue at all the blocks and main cities of the State, as the State rulers are not serious in the implementation of 27% reservation in the State Government services for Mandal Commission identified OBCs.
He alleged that the State Government has created an artificial group of backward classes under the garb of ‘Backward Area’ only to give the undue benefits of 23% vertical reservation to the kith and kin of ruling parties at the cost of real OBCs.
“The State rulers have made a complete eyewash and made a expenditure in crores on Commissions and Boards like Gajendergadkar Commission in 1968, Wazir Commission in 1969, etc but the real OBCs identified by Mandal Commission are still in thrist of their 27% reservation in the State Government services as per Court Jaudgement-1992 on Mandal Commission Report- 1980”, Basotra maintained.
Moreover, the representation in the State legislative Assembly and Council is nil despite having 50% of the total State population keeping in view the census report-1931, he further added.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Mangat Ram, Arjit Kumar, Chaman Lal Sanotra, Anil Kumar, Mohd Rafiq, Mohd Yousuf, and Balwant Kataria.
