Mourners across region participate in Majlis

JAMMU, Aug 19: Ashura was observed by Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu in a very low profile due to COVID-19 that has gripped the whole world. The guidelines of the Government both Centre and JKUT were taken into consideration and proper sanitization was done before the Majlis in Imam Bargah, here, today.
Mourners across the region participated to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussain. A brief Majlis was delivered by Molana Syed Ali Badshah Imam Jumma in which he stressed upon the teachings of Imam Hussain and Majlis of Sham-e-Ghariban was also delivered.
Addressing media president Anjuman-e-Imamia, Jammu Syed Amanat Ali Shah said that on Ashura, the 10th Day of Muharram, Imam Hussain and his 72 companions laid their lives and saved humanity and the values of Islam, battling against the tyranny of Yazid, the ruler and Caliph of Muslim Ummah at that time.
Prof. Sujat Khan, secretary Anjuman said it is our duty to spread the message of pure Islam. Ashura is not only a battle it is a lesson for all the oppressors in the world that truth never loose and always stand against the falsehood. Imam Hussain stands against the cruelty of Yazid, the ruler of that time.
Ajaz Kazmi senior Member of Anjuman-e-Imamia and president of Trade Union of Apni Party JKUT said that Ashura symbolizes the eternal struggle of truth against false hood and the battle against injustice and cruelty realized by Imam Hussain as he offered supreme sacrifice to uphold the principle against tyranny. The battle of Karbala is the only battle in the history on which the blood got success over sword.
Sohail Kazmi senior journalist while speaking to media said that Karbala is an institution to learn how to give yourself for the sake of oppressed and stand against oppression of Yazid.
Syed Afaq Hussain Kazmi vice president, Anjuman-e-Imamia complimented the administration for providing every possible support like sanitization, cleanliness, security, power supply, water etc. to observe the Majalis-e-Aza. “We would like to extend our thanks particularly to every department for their unconditional support’’, he added.
