JAMMU, Dec 4: Most of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have reached Government Polytechnic College in Jammu and SKICC in Srinagar besides district headquarters of Leh and Kargil, where counting of votes for four seats of Legislative Council from Panchayat quota would be held on December 6.
The Election Commission today appointed Tsering Morup, Special Secretary Ladakh Affairs as Observer for counting in Leh district and Mr Jigmet, an IFS officer as Observer for Kargil district.
Two senior IAS officers—Shant Manu and Atal Duloo had already been appointed as Observers for Kashmir and Jammu divisions respectively.
Counting for two seats of Jammu division would be held at Government Polytechnic College while counting for an equal number of seats of Kashmir division would be held at SKICC Srinagar, Leh and Kargil.
The results of Kashmir seats would be declared at SKICC Srinagar after getting vote figures from Leh and Kargil.
Sources said majority of EVMs have reached the counting stations today while some remaining EVMs would reach tomorrow.
Counting would start at 8 am on December 6.
