Reasi, Sept 7: General Observers for AC-56 Gulabgarh (ST), Saroj Kumar Sethi and for AC-57 Reasi & AC-58 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Avi Prasad, along with Police Observer Pradeep Kumar Yadav today held a joint meeting to review preparedness for Assembly elections in the district. Observers emphasised on conducting free, fair, peaceful and transparent elections.
During the meeting, DEO,Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan gave a detailed presentation on District Election Management Plan (DEMP). The Observers enquired about critical aspects of the election plan going into the details of the arrangements made by the District Election Authority.
They also held an extensive interaction with Nodal Officers and imparted important instructions to the participants and impressed upon everybody to ensure strict implementation of the MCC and also to be sufficiently vigilant while performing their election duties.
Furthermore, they emphasised on the role of training of the Polling Staff as also of the Sector Magistrates and the Zonal Magistrates. They emphasised that the DEO and SSP may carry out a detailed risk analysis of movement of the polling parties to far off areas and also ensure to be ready with an emergency response plan.
The Observers were also briefed by SSP Gaurav Sikarwar regarding the security plan and status of security personnel for pre poll and poll day. They said that sufficient CCTV cameras and security personnel should be present at polling stations.
The Observers highlighted the importance of maintaining utmost professionalism and transparent conduct during the elections.The meeting was attended by ADDC Reasi Sukhdev Samyal, Nodal Officer MCC Kulbushan Khajuria and other Nodal Officers of the district.
