JAMMU, June 20: An 80-year-old woman died late last night after consuming some poisonous substance in Miran Sahib area of city outskirts.
“The woman identified as Simar Kour wife of Pyara Singh, resident of Keer Pind (R S Pura) allegedly consumed rat poison at her residence,” a police official said.
He said in unconscious condition, the woman was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she passed away around midnight of yesterday.
After postmortem, the body of the deceased was today handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while Miran Sahib police had taken cognizance of the matter.
