Officials of courts to submit APR to High Court

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Jan 25: In the light of the Amendment in Rule 3 of Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets and Other Provisions Rules, 1988, some difficulty was expressed by the Judicial Officers, Officers/Officials of the J&K and Ladakh High Court and Subordinate Courts.
Resulting this, the matter was placed before the Chief Justice of J&K High Court who directed that as the High Court has its own in-house mechanism for submitting of Property Returns annually, so there is no need for separately submitting such returns to the government.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Government in exercise of powers conferred under Section 16 of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets and Other Provisions Rules, 1988, has ordered vide S.O 14 dated 11-01-2022 that every public servant is under obligation to submit online Property Return on the portal developed in this regard by the government of UT of J&K.
Hence, the High Court of J&K and Ladakh in a circular has stated that all the Judicial Officers, Officers/Officials of the High Court and Subordinate Courts should submit their Annual Property Returns (APR) to the High Court in the same manner as they have been doing earlier, through proper channel.
