OGW nabbed in Kupwara

Srinagar, Jan 18: Police today apprehened an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of Al-Badar militant outfit in Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police spokesman said acting on tip off about the movement of “Anti National Elements (ANEs) in the area, police along with 27 Rashtriya Rifles of Army laid a Naka at Sagipora Crossing.
“During checking one suspect who tried to hide himself and give slip to the Naka party was apprehended and later identified as Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Pohru Peth,” the spokesman said, adding:  “On his search, one Chinese pistol along with ammunition was recovered from his possession.”
A case under FIR number 14/2016 under Section 7/25 Arms Act was registered in police station Handwara against the OGW.
